Excursion à Paris

'I'm freezing my t*ts off'.
'Why is it so f*cking cold?!?!?'
'You said it's supposed to be 15 degrees, WHY ISN'T IT 15 DEGREES??'
'WHY THE HELL IS THERE NO HEATING ON THE DAMN COACH?'

Ah yes, Saturday 22nd of October started off bloody freezing... more so as we had a 6am start (practically a sin for students) and a 2 hour trip from Reims to Paris.

Big Ben. LOL jk :)
But as you can see, the sun made a fashionably late appearance and Paris was bathed in autumn sun... I can honestly say I fell in love with the city.

Outside the Louvre
La Jaconde and her fans...
This is my absolute favourite photo. The tour guide told us that the figures made a subtle 'star' shape... beautiful.

Just chilling casually, you know how it is :)
However, I only saw a tiny portion of the city... I'd really love to visit Paris' underbelly. The banlieu, the grotty parts - the Paris you don't see on TV. It's these parts of the city that I think are just as culturally fascinating - they add a certain 'spice' to things, no?

Cover It Up!

OH HAI CAMERA.

Ah yes, the ubiquitous H&M blazer... for £24.99 I definitely had to buy it... and so did everyone else! I was having a oh-my-God-don't-look-at-my-face-it's-awful kind of day, hence having my hands clapped across my dodgy mug. It was not an attempt at super cool blog posing unfortunately.

Burgundy

I finally feel settled enough to update my blog regularly - it's kind of like an online diary for me now! So the randomly gorgeous late summer sun has gone and now we have clouds, rain, and wind. YES. I like summer as much as the next guy, but you can't beat the feeling of a lovely warm jumper and lots of layers! Anymore sunshine and I'm afraid my body would go into disarray...

Today, I opted for one of my (recent) favourite colours. I've been out of the loop concerning fashion shows and such, but the high street is full of this deep gorgeous burgundy colour. Obviously some (clever) designer sent models down the catwalk which, I'm sure, resulted in 'Burgundy, this season's new black' type articles. Whoever you are, thank you.

I reckon this shall be be uniform for the coming weeks! Until next time :)

Champagne Showers

Photobucket

Oh yes my past weekend was champagne filled, heat induced fun! Okay, I only had one glass of champagne but it was so good - MUMM demi sec: nice and sweet :)

We went on a lovely tour at the MUMM champagne house, hence the free champagne. So much work goes in to making good champagne! I really want to show my appreciation and drink champagne everyday ;) After that, we went on a super touristy bus tour of our small city. We were shown pleasures such as council flats, the local carrefour and the first decrepit university residence ever built. It took FIVE HOURS. That's Paris to London and back -_-

The day got better with an after dark bbq - best bbq burgers I've ever had. We then partied it up in a club (12 Euro entry *grr*). I know so much terrible French music now it's shocking.

Life isn't all fun and games though, every tried learning Latin... in a foreign language? Here, the lecturers dictate everything (even in the seminars) and you're supposed to write everything down *sigh* Ah well, tout va bien, don't really work outside of lectures anyway and there are loads more events to come this term!

The life of an Erasmus student is a hard one :)
